Donna Stauffer

Donna Stauffer has worked in the field of international development for nearly 40 years, most of that as a diplomat with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). USAID assignments have taken her to Azerbaijan, Mozambique, Nepal, Botswana, Madagascar and Sudan. She has also done consulting work in Tanzania, Zimbabwe, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Kazakhstan. She currently works under contract as a Senior Policy Advisor in USAID’s Foreign Service Center. Ms. Stauffer’s primary areas of technical focus have been community-based and transnational natural resource management, agriculture, democracy promotion and women’s empowerment. She holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies from Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies; a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the Johns-Hopkins University; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. She is a Fairfax County Master Naturalist, chair of the Care for Creation Ministry at her church, and a member of numerous local and national environmental organizations.
